Support groups are helpful to widowers because they show them they’re not alone, provide a safe space to express emotions, share practical ways to cope with grief, offer hope, reduce distress, build self-understanding, give them a chance to help others and are affordable.

A guide to groups and events that help widowers find connection and support.

National Meetings

Camp Widow is a weekend-long program hosted by Soaring Spirits International. It brings together widowed people from across the country for a shared experience of connection and healing. The event includes workshops on grief, resilience, and rebuilding; small-group discussions; keynote speakers; memorial activities; and social gatherings. It’s a space where widowers can feel understood and supported.

Regional Events

Regional Events are local gatherings organized by Soaring Spirits International across the U.S. They offer widowed people a chance to connect in person through community meetups, small-group discussions, peer support and shared activities. These events are open to both widowers and widows and often include informal workshops and social time. It’s an opportunity to build local connections with others who understand.

Online Communities

Online Communities like Widowed Village offer a space where widowed people can connect from anywhere. Created by Soaring Spirits International, this free platform includes discussion forums, blog posts, resource libraries and shared stories from others who have experienced loss. It’s a place for ongoing support, day or night, with people who understand.

Widows’ Support Groups

This site is dedicated to supporting widowers, but we also recognize the importance of resources for women who are grieving. These organizations offer support for widows through community, education, and connection:
